Ryder Europe was established in 1971 and has grown through acquisition and organic development into a sizeable force in transportation with turnover of £186.79m and a fleet size of 12,855. Its European business focuses on commercial vehicle rental and contract hire, maintenance and contract drivers operating from 23 locations, of which 17 are rental locations.

Commercial Vehicle Rental

Ryder can provide a flexible and immediate commercial vehicle rental solution for your business. Ryder has a fleet of 2,000 commercial vehicles, from light vans to heavy trucks available locally on a spot rental or longer term basis.

Commercial Vehicle Contract Hire

Contract Hire offers the most flexible, reliable and cost-effective alternative to owning and maintaining your own commercial vehicles. Vehicles are custom-built specifically for your business. Terms include a fixed term with maintenance or fleet purchase and leaseback. These are supported by tailored maintenance packages, insurance and claims management, national breakdown and rescue services and vehicle disposal

Maintenance

Ryder provides a range of maintenance services for any commercial vehicle from contract packages to retail maintenance. A nationwide network of Ryder-owned depots as well as over 300 approved service locations, together with a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year breakdown service ensures customer fleets and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.

Drivers

In addition to the provision of contract driver supply and management, Ryder also offers dedicated operational expertise to manage all your road transport needs including telematics, planning, routing and scheduling.

Our Customers

Ryder supplies commercial vehicles on rental and contract hire to small and large companies alike, including Premier Foods, WH Smiths, Ikea, Danish Bacon, Dairy Crest and Debenhams, Royal Mail, City Link, Furniture Village, Bunzl and Sunlight. Contracts extend across a diverse range of industries and include a variety of vehicles many of which have been customised to meet individual requirements.

Fleet Management customers range from public and private sector companies. This includes the MoD where Ryder supplies, manages and maintains a fleet of 2,500 vehicles across Europe; Gloucestershire County Council, West Berkshire County Council, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue and Kirklees Primary Care Trust.
