Ryder cooks up a £1.2 million contract hire deal with Northern Foods
In a brand new deal worth £1.2 million over four years, Ryder is to supply 28 Iveco 3.5 ton vans with custom-designed temperature controlled bodywork to Northern Food’s specialist division, Holland’s Pies of Baxenden, Lancashire.
“We’ve restructured our business to increase the emphasis on delivering directly to customers and so we needed a fleet of smaller and reliable vehicles which were better suited to high street and city centre deliveries,” comments Neil Court-Johnston, Holland’s managing director. “We are also keen to reduce the carbon footprint of our business, so it was essential to have high specification and low emission vehicles and Ryder has worked with us to develop a customised speciation which meets all of our requirements.
“This is the first time that we’ve outsourced our delivery fleet and we have been impressed by the way that Ryder was able to design, build and deliver the first of the new vehicles within the deadline we have set for implementing our new delivery service. We recently closed our own vehicle maintenance facilities and so the having a Ryder maintenance depot close by is another key benefit.”
