New mirror legislation, effective 1 April 2009
With a view to improving road safety, the European Community has passed legislation making it compulsory for all commercial vehicles (heavy goods vehicles) over 3.5 tonnes, registered after 1 January 2000 to be equipped with new wide-angle and close-proximity mirrors on the passenger side.
